Not sure how to remedy 'banned servers' issue that is popping up occasionally when using CP on Win 7

(not sure why the post isn't saving my line feeds) I'm using a client/server setup and occasionally getting issues where the server is available but then randomly provides a 502 after the following error message on the client: 2017-07-28 18:26:00 debug Client-Server Warning: timeout after 3 seconds for {multiotpserver}:8112 with a result code of 0 (). 2017-07-28 18:26:00 debug Client-Server Info: temporary adding {multiotpserver}:8112 to the list of banned servers, content not recognized (...) 2017-07-28 18:26:00 notice {userid} User OK: User {userid} successfully logged in with TOTP token 2017-07-28 18:26:03 debug Client-Server Warning: timeout after 3 seconds for {multiotpserver}:8112 with a result code of 0 (). 2017-07-28 18:26:03 debug Client-Server Info: temporary adding {multiotpserver}:8112 to the list of banned servers, content not recognized (...) Is there any way I can remove the ban or make it less common outside of periodically restarting the server? Once I receive this error, I even get a 502 on the server itself if I RDP to it. Right now the only solution I have is to restart the server and/or pull the network cable on the client so the CP uses cached credentials.

  • Hello, can you try to increase the timeout value up to 6 seconds ? Edit the file multiotp.ini on client side, and change the value of the key: server-timeout Also check the log files of your server, to understand why it's not responding correctly and/or quickly enough. Let us know if it's better. Have a nice day
